David Berman doc: 'Silver Jew' streaming

Documentary about Silver Jews' David Berman streaming on Pitchfork this week for a limited time.

While I didn't find this the most engrossing film last time I saw it, it's incredibly moving, and I'm looking forward to giving it a second look.

I think David Berman is the best lyricst of the last God-knows-how-long. The Natural Bridge & American Water are just skull-splittingly good.

The discovery of the latter record actually pulled me out of a depression I thought I would have had to eventually die to escape.

This film follows him and the band travelling to Israel to look his suicide attempt in the eye.
