Elton John was my very first concert, 1972, and I was his biggest fan until he came out with Carribu, which I didn't care for. I always felt he was singing what was in my heart. It was uncanny at times.
He hit the nail on the head once again with this tune, and with Leon Russell for an added bonus.
Enjoy it, I sure did!n How the heck does he know my life?

Yes, its me. You may now genuflect.

Huh! Hadn't paid much

Huh! Hadn't paid much attention to this, but whether or not it worked, it's a perfectly fine reason and doesn't affect my opinion of him negatively at all.

Sorry Ben

Old Elton still does it for me. His newer material is okay, but harpsichord & electric piano? OMG! BTW, Empty Sky was his very first album. It was re-released years later in the US, but redone on regular piano. Doesn't come close to the UK version. Hard to find in the US, but I got a copy. :)

I give him credit Matt, he tries. Can't ask for more than that.
