Gosh, it feels kind of early, but the AV Club just posted its end of year list:

http://www.avclub.com/articles/the-best-music-of-2010,48635/

So, here's what I got so far... keeping in mind I have at least a dozen albums from this year ripped to my iPod I haven't heard yet.

First off, let me get out of the way, my favorite albums of the year by people I know (including mine):
Elastic No-No Band - Fustercluck!!!
Joe Crow Ryan - This Machine Kills Purists 2
Thomas Patrick Maguire - Temper Tantrums Cause Delays
Kung Fu Crimewave - Capitol Punishment

Alright, now here's the albums I had nothing to do with (in alphabetical order):
Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot
Budos Band - III
The Dead Weather - Sea of Cowards
Devo - Something For Everybody (flawed, but lots of good tracks - esp. the deluxe version)
Die Antwoord - $O$ / Ekstra EP
Jenny and Johnny - I'm Having Fun Now
Jamey Johnson - The Guitar Song
LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
The Vaselines - Sex With An X

Plus, these Numero Group reissues:
Syl Johnson - Complete Mythology
Bruner - Songs For A Friend

Here's some of what I've been listening to this year...

As you can tell from this, I'm a bit of a pop-kid...

I love Adam Green's Minor Love...
For indie pop Allo Darlin's self-titled debut is perfect...
Deerhunter's Halcyon Digest
Scottish Band Kid Canaveral's Shouting at Wildlife is a great slice of indie rock
Scotland seems to be in love with traditional folk influenced indie music at the moment, like the brilliant "Heart Of The Land, Soul Of The Sea" by The Last Battle
Los Campesinos's Romance is Boring is just a great pop record
So love Nan's Construction Of A Champ
Solex vs Cristina Martinez + Jon Spencer's mashup Amsterdam Throwdown King Street Showdown!
Tunng's ...And Then We Saw Land
The Wave Pictures - Susan Rode The Cyclone only had a Spanish release (and only 1000 vinyl copies at that) but it's great.
Xiu Xiu - Dear God, I Hate Myself
A Sunny Day in Glasgow - Autumn, again is a free download
Dressed Like Wolves's brilliant "I Could Walk On Water, But I'd Rather Part The Sea" can be downloaded from their CLLCT page
Entertainment For The Braindead - Roadkill is probably my favourite of the year and also a free download at aaahh-records.net
