In order to submit an application for a performance workshop residency kind of thing I'm trying to import some video from a mini dv tape. Unfortunately I don't have a camera that plays back this format. Is there anyone who can help with this? If you are comfortable loaning me a camera, I can do the import quickly. Also, I'll be at Sidewalk tomorrow (Mon, 1/3) and can bring my laptop and do the import then and there if anyone feels like coming by with a camera. Figured I would give this a shot....

My email address is: thirdclassmail [attt...] earthlink.net

thanks,

Herb

Flip4Mac

Nan,
I downloaded the free version of this software, Flip4Mac.

Is that one of the ones you tried already? It requires Mac OS 10.4.

Anyway, it's worked well for me.

wmv -> VLC

VLC is probably the best bet for playing back .wmv files. If they have DRM crap on them, they might not work. If they're streaming links, they might not work.
