"Elizabeth Devlin is a creative young singer from Queens, with a voice at once strong and ethereal. She accompanies herself on Autoharp, which casts her every song in shades of spooky." -TimeOUT NY, December 2008

On March 19, 2011, beneath the largest full moon seen in 18 years, utilizing one mic, an autoharp and her "at once strong and ethereal" voice, Elizabeth Devlin tracked 8 songs at FLUX Studio NYC, which will be released on For Whom The Angels Named, a limited edition, signed, 100 copy 12" vinyl pressing on Sept 22, 2011 at Sidewalk Cafe in LES, NYC.

"Elizabeth Devlin croons brassy dreams over Autoharp." -TimeOUT NY, August 2009

For Whom The Angels Named, Devlin's second full length album, preserves the gentle purity, sensational nearness and impetuous tempo audiences have come to expect from Devlin's breathlessly intimate live performances. Each of the eight songs on For Whom The Angels Named, paints the portrait and tells the story of an individual; each song title is a different name.

"'We're into her music right now. She plays Autoharp and her sound has this delicate but engrossing feel. It's like you're seeing her play in a snow globe.'" -L Magazine March 2010

Sept 22, 2011 is Devlin's album release party and also part of the week-long Antifolk Festival at Sidewalk Cafe. "The entire night of musicians and poets will perform in the same manner in which I recorded," says Devlin, who booked the line-up for the evening, "ONE musician...ONE mic...ONE instrument (except the poets, of course)." She goes on to say, "I have a supreme respect and love for the creativity of all the folks in the line-up and encourage everyone to stay for the whole night!" In addition to having toured nationally and internationally, Devlin has performed at many home venues in NYC, including Sidewalk Cafe, Webster Hall, Canal Room, Cake Shop, Jalopy Theatre, Spike Hill, Matchless and Pete's Candy Store.

"First we had Elizabeth Devlin playing a show on her own, high voice and cooool melodies on autoharp, it was like having Pj Harvey playing her latest album at home."
-ROCKERPARIS, April 2011

Devlin invokes influences from scratchy phonographs, combining bitter-sweet, haunting vocals with angelic, cacophonous Autoharp melodies and poignant, insightful lyrics.

"When the curators, introduced Elizabeth Devlin, a singer and an autoharp angelic tunes player, I felt a little bit like I was taken back in time to San Francisco in the 1950s, I swear I nearly stood up from my chair and yelled: 'Yeah, guys, let’s do it; let’s merge the arts together; let’s get rid of the concept of the forms of art and let’s get mutually inspired."
-Bushwick Daily, A Review: Fireside Follies #3, January 2011

Devlin's a two time recipient of the Common Ground On the Hill, Roots Music & Arts Memorial Scholarship through which she attended Traditions Music Workshops in 2007 & 2008. Devlin was awarded the 2008 Mary Lou Orthey Scholarship & attended the Mt. Laurel Autoharp Gathering where she received the Leonard A. Reid - Peoples Choice Award:Outstanding Vocal Performance.
