The Studio

Olive Juice Studios was created to provide a comfortable environment for the free flow of ideas and sounds. We are of the belief that the best way to start with a good recording is getting to know the force behind the sound: the artist. While we are always on the look out for happy accidents we believe that there is no substitute for time when it comes to getting what you want out of a recording project. This is why we try to keep our rates low and the artist's involvement in the process high.

Matt Roth (a.k.a. Major Matt) has over 15 years of experience in sound engineering and sound design. From 2001 to 2012 Matt recorded, mixed, and mastered music for himself and others out of his unconventional home based studio located in NYC's Lower East Side. In the Spring of 2012 he relocated to his home town of Kansas City, KS. Past clients include: Kimya Dawson, Daniel Johnston, Jeffrey Lewis, Adam Green, Seth of Dufus, Schwervon!, L.D. Beghtol, The Trachetenburg Family Slideshow Players, The Wowz, Dan Fishback, The Baby Skins, Toby Goodshank and many more.

Our relaxed atmosphere serves as an ideal setting for the artist navigating that tricky path from the bedroom to the studio. Our core operations center around a Mac based Pro Tools LE system. Our capabilities include 24 track recording, mixing, digital editing, and digital mastering.
