I was watching the Republican National Leadership Conference today on C-Span (I know I have way too much time on my hands.) anyway. Aside from it being about as inspiring as a Boy Scout troop meeting they had this really strange Obama impersonator go on stage. He did a lot of pretty bad jokes, and then for some reason he got cut off and escorted off the stage. It was really weird. I found this article about it. Hopefully a youtube will surface soon. http://af.reuters.com/article/oddlyEnoughNews/idAFTRE75H27920110618

Anyway anyone who thinks there is no difference between republicans and democrats should check some of this out. I watched about 5 or 6 speeches by Governors, Senators and hopeful, white dude after white dude talking about mandatory English speaking requirements for all US citizens, the pledge of allegiance in school, Obamacare ruining the country, and Ronald Reagan, Ronald Reagan, Ronald Reagan. I mean talk about a group of out of touch career politicians. Super lame stuff. Man if there is someone who is going to inspire the American people and beat Obama it sure the hell isn't going to be the Republican party. Every now and then they would pan out over the audience and it was like looking at a senior center in a Florida suburb. Someone should just put the republican party out of it's misery. I say we just hold a funeral for it. Then we can just split the Democrats in two and make half of that the republican party because half of them would have been called republicans 30 years ago anyway. http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/ConferenceDayT

I like Doug Heye's tweet.

I wonder how much the impersonator got paid and if he wrote the jokes.

Have a funeral for the GOP on the 4th of July. That'd be a kickass party!

You should know what Sibel Edmonds knows.

I'm curious about those

I'm curious about those things too. I've seen a lot of articles accusing the GOP of racism here. I'm not totally sure. I think just stupid is more like it. I thought a lot of the jokes were offensive but I feel like most of what the the guy said would not have been out of line on SNL. I have a feeling that they hired him to speak without even checking out his material in detail and once they saw he was making fun of Republicans as much as democrats they gave him the early exit music. This shows what happens when the republican party attempts to go a little off book. It further displays one of their greatest weaknesses: the ability to think freely and truly relate and engage with a world outside of their agenda. Their strength is their ability to compartmentalize and play upon peoples idealism and fear. They're used to hiring their help without really getting to know it.
